“ I stayed at the Sherbrooke Hotel, which was conveniently close, so I decided to order takeout from there. The food was flavorful and enjoyable, but I found it a bit too greasy and sweet for my liking. ”
“ This place felt like a cozy local spot. I ordered pickup online from their website and was able to pick it up in 15 mins. The folks were friendly, fast, and the food was well packaged. I got the beef green beans on rice and the large wanton soup. Everything was very flavorful. ”
“ I had an overnight stay in Vancouver, and a quick check on Google maps that showed me how close this restaurant was to my hotel. I decided to give it a try, and I’m so excited that I did. It seems like a bit of a hidden gem, tucked in off the main sidewalk. I’m glad I had my Google maps to help me find it. It was around 7 PM, there was one table with four people eating, but it seems like many takeout orders were being set up. I was greeted very promptly and friendly, I decided on dinner combo D. It was so delicious, more than enough food for some leftovers! Extremely friendly and super quick service. The food was piping hot. Large portions, love the abundance of pineapple with the sweet-and-sour pork! My favorite! The price was very comparable for the amount of food and the quality. Would definitely come back next time I’m in Vancouver. ”
“ Their lunch special prices & selection combos keep me coming back. *Regular menu items are awesome too. The cook is a one man show who pumps out awesome dish after dish. Love watching his skills in action! ”
“ Was hungry for Chinese takeout and came upon this restaurant after doing a Google search around my hotel. After reading the online reviews I had some reservations, but decided to give it a try. The chef/owner and his wife were very friendly, asked me what I was hungry for and for how many people. I decided to order the most basic - Stir-fried Beef Chow Fun and Wonton Soup. I figured - these are so basic and should be a good barometer of the quality. After about 10 minutes I walked out with my order and was on my way back to my hotel. The food was great! The chow fun were intact - not broken into small pieces like some of the lesser-skilled takeout places. There was ample tender pieces of beef and the “wok hey” (slightly charred taste from the high heat of the stove) was just right. The wonton soup was flavorful and not heavily seasoned - the wontons weren’t the traditional HK-Style ones, but closer to the wontons from Taiwan and other parts of China. I had a small order of the wonton soup and there were 8-9 pieces of wonton, each generously filled with minced pork and a shrimp. The filling was lightly seasoned and not over-powering, which is fantastic for those who are not into the traditional more fishy-tasting HK style wontons. What impressed me was the small attention to detail. To prevent the soup spilling during transport, they had covered the soup bowl with clear wrap before putting on the lid. I’ve had many takeouts / food deliveries and this is very rare. Overall a great little gem that’s a bit hidden away. Good food and I will definitely be returning - always great to support small businesses like this. ”
“ Our go-to spot for Chinese take out! Twins is a phenomenal, unassuming restaurant. The owners are genuine and lovely people who always take care to remember their regulars. The food is delicious, well priced and consistent. ”
“ Twins Chinese Kitchen on Hornby Street is a fantastic spot for tasty and authentic Cantonese-style food. We ordered the sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, and mixed vegetables. Everything was fresh, full of flavour, and had that special ... ”
“ BEST deal in town for fast Chinese food, 13.50 (as of May 2024) and it tastes great! Little to no MSG which is good. Pork was fresh right off the wok. Portions were decent sized as well. Staff were very nice, great mom and pop vibe. This spot is hard to find but it’s my new go to Chinese food spot in vancouver downtown. ”
